Alacati / Turkey

Alacati was a predominantly Greek-inhabited city until the Greeks had to emigrate at the beginning of the 20th century. Today Alacati is a very lively city with a great marina, and an incredible weekly market. In the narrow streets, you will find beautiful old houses partly Greek, partly of Turkish origin. There are fine shops and countless restaurants. Coming from Chios you feel overwhelmed by the incredible number of tourists (also in May) from the Far East.
